While recommending moving away from Windows might represent a security
ploy in the short term, the long term costs would be prohibitive for
larger organizations that move away, and then move back, to Microsoft.

But why would they need to move back?  Even if more sploits get tossed at
the linus or bsd envs. they have a better history of addressing those
problems in a shorter ammount of tme then the behemoth in Redmond.  This
reduces the time frame of risk drmatically still.
