Are there any tiny smtp proxies available

TIS fwtk seems to be one choice, but it is old and outdated.
postfix (full feature smtp server but seems stronger than sendmail) comes to mind (with amavis & spamassasin, you'll have your anti-spam feature you diserved for years). Many firewalls include an smtp relay (checkpoint, symantec). smtp is older than fwtk, so that should not be an issue. Anyway, you're right, fwtk/tis is outdated, I would keep my first advice: postfix.
