Some methods that can be employed for detecting backdoors: 1. Installing anti-virus software to detect worms, trojans, or viruses. 2. Installing a personal firewall, or using an external firewall to filter ports that you don't need or to watch outbound data. 3. Scanning yourself with a portscanner. These are personal use methods. Network-wide, you would probably need an array of intrusion detection devices, and various firewalls are vunlerable points (i.e. access points, DMZ, etc)From: lee lucy <kidlucy88 () yahoo com> To: focus-ids () securityfocus com Subject: backdoor detection Date: Thu, 26 Dec 2002 19:34:22 -0800 (PST) Hi all, It's known backdoor is difficult to detection.
