That seems to be restricting the choice somewhat and for no good reason
as far as I can see

Besides which, the NetScreen device is rated at 500Mbps only!

For a more complete selection backed up by extensive testing, take a
look at our two Gigabit IDS reports (both of these devices are covered,
along with several others) which can be found at www.nss.co.uk

Just a heads up before you go there - the latest version can be viewed
on-line for free, but if you wanted Edition 1 (which includes a couple
of vendors who did not participate in Edition 2) then I am afraid you
would need to purchase that one ($50)

We also have an IPS report coming out on Jan 19th

For full 1Gb, you should be looking at NetScreen or NAI. If 
you are in the 100-300 Mb range, most modern NIDS function 
in that category.
