IMHO, if I were you, I would continue to look at Snort. It's what all
IDS solutions, both commercial and open source, are compared against.

That said, I've heard of:
Prelude IDS (which accepts Snort signatures, see above)
Shadow IDS

I don't know the status of these projects, so buyer beware.
