I agree with your professor. I don't use the CERT site on a daily, or
even weekly basis like I do sans.org, but when I need information from
it, it's always been relevant, accurate (as far as I can tell) and up
to date. What exactly is supposed to "suck" about the site, I wonder??

Just goes to show you that you can't believe everything you hear in college. The one occaison I bothered to report a hack to CERT it was ten days before a response. Some emergency response. The information is hard to digest and, as pointed out, mostly for subscribers. CERT appears to be a sinecure for the unixoids who man (person?) it. I am not impressed.
