Absolutely. After the initial stir that Geer/Scheiener et al's anti- monoculture broadside raised, all the trade rags have run "balanced" articles designed to soothe CIOs who have all-MSFT shops. I'm all in favor of balanced journalism, but sometimes you can't balance or compromise. I recall reading this little parable: Two childred argue about how to split a cookie: Child A says that he/she/it should get all of the cookie. Child B says that they should cut the cookie in half, and A and B should each get half. Adult C steps in and compromises, by splitting the difference: Child A gets 3/4 of the cookie and Child B gets 1/4. Sometimes "balance" or "fairness" just doesn't work. _______________________________________________ Full-Disclosure - We believe in it. Charter: http://lists.netsys.com/full-disclosure-charter.html
