Of course, if they've been averaging 100/day and are now seeing 3,000/hour, that would be a "significant increase" as well. In fact, use of the term "increase" implies that they have a handle on the baseline activity level, and that it's noticably different. For what it's worth, I'm still seeing "background chatter" rates here. How many different sources was the original poster seeing probes from, and how many sensors in how big an address range?
