But it's nice to see that not just completly newcomers with no mind are

Sometimes I ask myself why this list isn't moderated... ;)

You're a journalist...no, you're an *editor*. Your statement above is
far too general to be of any substance. Damage? To people? None that I
saw. I understand that Sasser annoyed the shit out of a whole mess of
sysadmins and security boffins, but I didn't see it damage anyone.

Don't use the power of creative writing to cloud an issue Larry.
Businesses had to spend some more on overtime. Some businesses lost
money because they couldn't conduct business, but 'innumerable people'
damaged? Not likely.

If you honestly believe that this person should be in gaol for a long
time, then you'd best start lobbying for more prisons, because there
are plenty out there doing similar things in other fields that should
be in gaol too (according to your opinion).

Oh, one more thing,

'loosed an attack'

You should be writing for the CNN Iraq team, not a computer security
section in eWeek.

Cheers,
Brad

He wrote a worm. Big freaking deal.

Yeah, very big freaking deal. He loosed an attack he had good reason
to believe would do damage to innumerable people all over the world.
He belongs in jail and for a long time, if only to send a message that
such behavior is wrong.

And anyone who trusts him with their computers is an idiot.
