-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Mark, et al Given the noise ratio (esp. lately, thanks to a couple of misanthropes with nothing vaild to say) I would agree that some moderation of the list would be in order, if there was a way to find a verifiably non-biased and tolerant inidivdual with the willingness to wade through this quagmire on a regular basis. Personally, it's just not that big a deal to filter out the noise by adding a couple of people to the autotrash list. I suppose it's remotely possible that n3td3v or infosecBOFH (who seems to be attempting to validate his choice of handles by being an unmitigated ass whenever possible) might actually have something constructive to contribute at some point...but I'll just have to risk missing out on it going forward. it seems to me that without a moderator (since there is the apparent absence of people who are moderate, or even civilized), this list will continue its degeneration into a never-ending pissing contest. (some people don't seem to think that the social compact one accepts when joining a list applies to them. my most recent attempt to politely, in direct email, ask one of the offenders to stop doing this sort of thing on the list ... was posted with a twerpy reply right back to the list). (no good deed goes unpunished). how many people who actually find value in this list (which i have, since len rose set it up quite a long time ago) agree with this position? if you think there's a compelling reason for no moderation, i'd like to hear it. i call to your attention three brief selections from the list charter, which is at http://lists.grok.org.uk/full-disclosure-charter.html which i think have been violated recently: "Members are expected to maintain a reasonable standard of netiquette when posting to the list." "Disagreements, flames, arguments, and off-topic discussion should
be taken off-list wherever possible." "Gratuitous advertisement, product placement, or self-promotion is
forbidden." _______________________________________________ Full-Disclosure - We believe in it. Charter: http://lists.grok.org.uk/full-disclosure-charter.html Hosted and sponsored by Secunia - http://secunia.com/
