The current state of play

People think if something is mentioned on a list then its happening.

People think if its not hot on the agenda on a mailing list then its
not the hacker agenda.

Hackers post things to lists that are different from the real agenda
to divert the agenda.

We've seen folks blogging about shizzle after a FD post and its funny
"they put it on the high priority agenda"....like the SANS diary blog.

It is funny the way the world works and the way mailing list poeple
"think" and the way mailing lists like FD can become "institutional".

If you start relying on a given mailing list after a while it can
become "tunnel vision" and in its self become a threat for the comapny
you work for, because you trust the given mailing list so much, that
you make financial company decisions based on what you see on FD.
