As part of the settlement, the Santa Clara, Calif., networking-products company will pay $700,000 in legal fees and include disclaimers about the data-transfer speed of its products, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. The company, which denied any wrongdoing or violations of the law, will give 15% discounts to members of the class and donate $25,000 of its products to a charity of the company's choice. Netgear was granted preliminary court approval of the settlement on Nov. 22, the filing said. The court hearing on the final approval of the settlement will be March 21.
