Need a little thought on this. There is something about the "Run" box area under the start menu that has bothered me. One of my jobs is loading new laptops for sales folks. I often use it to log on to my desktop where software is stored for the laptops. I use the _\\ext160_ <file://\\ext160> and log on. One day I hit a different key and noticed that the list box dropped down with a number of entries. Entry areas that I "know" I did not enter or go to. The laptop is new. It is a member of the domain. I then played around a bit using different combos _\\r,\\p_ <file://\\r,\\p>, etc. Also just hitting other letters. The domain computer showed entries.

At home, I find that histories would show up also, which I understand the "run" to hold. Something about this bothers me. I able to track what has been done and where one has gone. But on that domain computer I was "sure" that this new laptop had not had those entries typed before. Am I just being superstitious here?

I'm not completely sure I'm understanding what you're, but if I am...

The drop-down list will show you what you used before, either by typing it in or selecting it. If you like to keep your hands on the keyboard, you can use WindowsKey-R, Alt-DownArrow to see the list.

If you start typing something from the file system or domain, it will start autocompleting. So if you start typing c:\a it will show below the typing line c:\autoexec.bat (what whatever the alphabetically first file that starts with "a" is. If you type \\, it's going to start showing you machines from the domain, I believe.
