Well, you're not the only one it's important to; it's one of the first
questions I ask about a machine's screen (laptop or otherwise).

If only my 1600x1280 Sun monitor hadn't faded into uselessness.  Decent
resolution was nice to have, even if it was only 1bpp - I ran
dual-headed with 1600x1280x1 and 1152x900x8 (today the latter would be
1152x900x{8,24} dual-depth).
