Not much more to add here...Renowned Dr. Bilked Out of $3M in Web Scam
        

A lawsuit filed by the son of renowned psychiatrist Dr. Louis A.
Gottschalk alleges that the doctor was bilked out of some $3 million by
a Nigerian Internet scam, the Associated Press reports via MSNBC.com.

Gottschalk, 89, works at the University of California, Irvine as a
neuroscientist, according to the AP.

He gained national notoriety in the late 1980s after claiming that a
study of former President Ronald Reagan's speech patterns determined
that he began suffering from diminishing mental ability as early as
1980, according to the AP.

Court documents say Gottschalk admits to losing $900,000 "to some bad
investments," the AP reports.

Last month, Guy Gottschalk filed the suit requesting that a judge shift
administrative authority of the family's $8 million partnership away
from his father because the elder Gottschalk had destroyed records in
hopes of keeping his losses hidden, according to the AP.

Guy Gottschalk says he filed the suit to make sure his father didn't
lose any more to the scam, the AP reports; however, Louis Gottschalk
says the suit is the product of some unidentified "vendetta."

A court hearing is slated for March 14, according to the AP.
