I'd venture to say that my personal laptop is relatively safe. :-)

On a an IT administered server, no freeking way. :-)

Besides, it generally only a snippet or two anyways, and that's
what a config repository is for...

Fergie, if you're letting firewall ACLs be stored on a system that you
can use
notepad to edit them, that's already sufficiently scary right there...
