to a misdemeanor for using the Wi-Fi network to check his e-mail.
Hahaha wasn't pr0n ?
Well nine year is a a bit too far compared to the shadowcrew (asd
mentionned in the article) and others we don't hear about too often.
And if they were a little brighter they could have used better
antennas and stayed clear off the parkings .Well it provews once again
that big corporate means big on security ,err lack of security .
Well all in all that makes me even feel more secure that i live in a
retarded country that doesn't know how to use wifi or what 802.11 is ,
(well it's prety much the only advantage :) ).

A federal appeals court upheld a nine-year prison term Monday for a
hacker who tried and failed to steal customer credit-card numbers from
the Lowe's chain of home improvement stores.

Brian Salcedo, now 23, has been in custody since 2003, when an FBI
stakeout caught him and a partner breaking into several Lowe's networks
over an unsecured Wi-Fi connection at a suburban Detroit store.

Under Monday's ruling, Salcedo will not be eligible for release until
May 2011.
