The article said the majority of the spam originating in the US is 
generated by spam zombies.  I don't claim to know much about China, and 
I admit it may be presumptuous to assume, but I have to believe 
high-speed Internet and home PCs are more common in the United States 
than in China. I'm also under the impression that a significant number 
of Chinese Internet users do so from Internet cafes, and these are 
likely attended by staff that applies a measure of security to their 
stations not found in your average US home. 

Having built my opinion on assumptions, I wobbly assert that it's 
obvious why the US generates more spam.  --- More machines, more 
bandwidth, and they're on all the time. 

And is a contract and ink from a CEO really needed for when Aunt Marge's 
PC gets hijacked? =)
