The seriously disturbing thing about this whole thing is the
sheer ridiculous, and dangerous, publicity nature of it.

First, the December 2005 article you forwarded is dateline
Miami, FLA -- it makes you wonder why in hell he would be
involved in a botched kiddie porn raid in Gretna VA (of all
places). Believe me (and as Valdis knows), I grew up in that
area of Virginia, and it's in the middle of nowhere. :-)

This whole thing sticks. Especially since it was a wrongful
intrusion on a backwoods family...

Cheers,

Isn't Shaq just a little.. umm.. out of his jurisdiction?

Well, that rapper gig didn't work out, neither did the acting thing. At
least
he's looking for honest work. Anybody police officer that big is bound to
make a real impression on a criminal. If he needs to use a gun, let's hope
he's better with it than with his free throws.
Seriously, he is a reserver officer. More noble than rapping anyday.
