What, exactly, would be the legal basis of such a suite?!

The reason some people own guns is the sudden realization of the fact,
backed up by legal precedent, that the police are not liable for their
safety or protection. That being a well known fact, how is it that
MySpace CAN BE liable for the safety or protection of faceless,
anonymous children - who need parents more than they need government
protection?
