-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Via CCSF.edu (props, Pogo Was Right). [snip] On Tuesday, February 6, 2007 City College of San Franciscos (CCSF) Information Technology Department learned that a computer file created in May 2000, containing the names, addresses and social security numbers of approximately eleven thousand students was potentially viewable via the Internet. The file did not include any drivers license numbers, credit card or banking information. The College took immediate steps to remove the file and ensure that it could no longer be viewed. The file in question was used in 2000 for providing students that attended in Summer 1999 their grades. You should know that since June 2002, the College stopped using social security numbers as unique identifiers for students and switched to student identification numbers. All grades issued since 2002 are connected to student identification numbers and do not involve the use of social security numbers.
