He is probably charged because he was the genius who proudly displayed his method of opening the locks with his "burglarious instruments" in this case meaning "shreds of metal from a Diet Coke can". In October 2006 a similar occurrence found three burglars in the Faculty Club after hours. They were released after their attorneys argued that the three were hackers "engaged in a longstanding tradition among MIT students of after-hours exploration of the university campus". - -- - -------------- Gary Warner Director of Research in Computer Forensics The University of Alabama at Birmingham gar () cis uab edu gar () askgar com - -------------- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIVmWfg79eYCOO6PsRAoVSAJ0Us+s9JpL3dI5CZ2n5+ks77f3xcgCeJdEM 7R+f1pAn8C7jU1KnE6AJNRg= =TYUP -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
