I don't think we'll ever see SVG content being displayed in Outlook or Outlook Express. ;-) I forget if VML is turn on or off in HTML email. Hopefully off. A proper email client shouldn't be displaying EMF image files in the first place. JPEGs, GIFs, and PNG files are the Internet standards for image files.
Don't forget SVG, which is meant to club down EMF...
