Oh, Dear

An interesting, if somewhat polemic, TV report on the dangers of identity theft, unsecured wireless networks, phishing and the general evils of the Internet: transcript. video, other resources, etc. at http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/content/2009/s2655088.htm But - somewhat embarrassingly - after the Australian Federal Police boasted to camera about their success in monitoring a criminal hacker forum and arresting an administrator, a hacker broke into one of the police computers and posted screenshots etc. http://www.smh.com.au/technology/security/hackers-break-into-police-computer-as-sting-backfires-20090818-eohc.html I always tell people that it's risky to get into a pissing contest with hackers, but do they listen?
