a) Apple is saying that, as a company, it's *not* interested in security?
Apple is the most secretive company one might imagine....
b) Do they actually kill developers who try to leave the company?
No, they just take them out to BJ's Brewhouse to explain their errors, and their car is later found in the Apple parking lot abandoned...
c) Is there still a company that, in this day and age, thinks you can "kill" a story?
I would assert of course there are (just as companies continue to try denial as the first response to issues; good crisis management continues to be a skill that few companies have). Apple continues to attempt to kill stories even though I suspect the individuals know it will not work. But they have their orders, and they can show they tried.
