I'm acquainted with one of the guys who came up with this stuff.  I don't
understand all of the technical details but apparently it works well to
prevent unauthorized reading of RFID information.  The company I work with
hosts the web site for the industrial design firm (Robrady Design, see:
http://www.robrady.com/idsh.html) that is working with them on the various
applications of the technology.
