To the Chinese, copying other people's work is not wrong. Remember,
they're COMMUNISTS, IE, they don't believe in Property rights.

We aren't the first civilization to create the beast that destroys us
(Rome by outsourcing its defense to mercenaries, Egypt by outsourcing
its defense to Rome, Athens by outsourcing it to Sparta....).

Outsourcing your "core competency" (which for most civilizations has
been waging war, but for ours is making stuff) is how your civilization
creates the competitor that destroys it, and simultaneously reduces its
ability to defend itself.
