One thing I said on 9/11/01: The age of the aircraft hijack is over. The
passengers will rip any hijacker limb from limb with their bare hands.

If I was any org that relied on "take this plane to ...." for cash, I'd
be mighty upset with Mr. Bin Laden.

Come to think of it, I'm mighty upset with Mr. Bin Laden anyway.

But, of course, we can't find a 6'4" diabetic guy with a limp and an
entourage in a part of the world where the mean height is under 5' 7"
(1.7m), medical facilities are few and far between, and an entourage
usually consists of a camel or donkey and a few goats.

As with most security, the problem isn't that the security professionals
don't know how to do it, or that the customers don't want it, but that
those in charge don't want to dedicate the necessary resources or take
the required steps.

No, that would be the "We refuse to be defenseless..." rule wherein we
continue the habit of jumping would-be plane bombers when given the
opportunity.

And what do you know -- it applies to everyone, since the latest is an
upstanding citizen from The Netherlands. :-)
