US flight diverted over 'suspicious ornament'

The local Detroit news says:
"Santos [Delta Air Lines's spokesman] could not say whether that incident, which renewed concerns about air travel 
security,
influenced the decision of the pilot in Friday's flight. The diversion was made "to ensure passenger safety," he said."
