Virus Causes Firework Explosion (really?)

As anyone who can access YouTube can attest, San Diego's July 4th fireworks
went off all at once, causing a 17 minute show to be condensed into about 20
seconds.

Apparently it was caused by a computer virus.

Or, then again, maybe not. According to the reports at:
http://www.flyingpenguin.com/?p=17503
http://www.oregonlive.com/today/index.ssf/2012/07/san_diego_fireworks_malfunct
io.html

somebody at the company said "because of a glitch or virus in the computer firing
system, they all went off with one command."

So, just like always, anything that goes wrong and is connected to a computer is
the result of a "virus" ...

Jack shook his head and staggered backwards, his hand falling on
to the shaft of an axe that was resting in a block of wood. He
knew what had to be done. He hobbled into the shed, rummaged
under the broken wood and found his father's old chainsaw.
