On the heels of learning of the Facebook social engineering experiment, we learn that OKCupid did much the same thing, lying to users about how "compatible" they were: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-28542642 (The additional research, which determined that most people decide to contact other people based on profile image rather than any actual information, was funded by the Ministry for Study of the Bleedin' Obvious.) In other breaking news, we have learned that sometimes people, companies, and Websites on the Internet don't tell the truth ... Disclaimer: this may not be a real email message. It may have been created by a private individual or company, untrammelled by restrictions and requirements (undertaken by universities and institutes) on psychological testing, and interested solely in marketing. It may be a troll or other peice of social engineering.
