On the heels of learning of the Facebook social engineering experiment, we learn
that OKCupid did much the same thing, lying to users about how "compatible"

(The additional research, which determined that most people decide to contact
other people based on profile image rather than any actual information, was
funded by the Ministry for Study of the Bleedin' Obvious.)

In other breaking news, we have learned that sometimes people, companies, and
Websites on the Internet don't tell the truth ...

Man is only a subject full of error, natural and ineffaceable,
without grace. Nothing shows him the truth. Everything deceives
him. These two sources of truth, reason and the senses, besides
being both wanting in sincerity, deceive each other in turn.
