[Abstract. See YSN #1313 for the article. -ed.] The Senate VA/HUD/IA Appropriations Subcommittee is waiting until after Labor day to complete work on bill H.R. 2491, which provides funding for NASA and NSF for fiscal 1994. The names of the committee members are given, plus how to contact them. A sample letter is attached and YSN members are invited to send their electronic signatures, use the letter for one of their own, and/or pass it on. [VA=Veterans Administration, HUD=Housing and Urban Development, IA=Independent Agencies, H.R.=House of Representatives, NASA=National Aeronautics and Space Administration, NSF=National Science Foundation. -ed.] ========== From: TIMG () qoe pas rochester edu (Timothy P. Grayson) Along the same lines as yesterday's (YSN #1313) post by Eric Schmidt regarding H.R. 2491 bill for funding of NSF and NASA, the Senate Appropriations Committee will be debating bill H.R. 2519 which funds NIST at the full level requested by the Administration. This is a very important bill for NIST, as the House committee voted to reduce the Administration's request by over $100 million. As with bill H.R. 2491, write letters to committee members and your own Senators! A request: Does anyone have the names and addresses of the Senate Appropriations Committee members? If so, could you post them ASAP? Thanks! [NIST=National Institute of Standards and Technology, ASAP=as soon as possible. -ed.] ------------------------------
