ANNOUNCING AMSTERDAM IETF AUDIO SESSION ARCHIVE

As in the past few IETF meetings, live audio and video from the plenary and
some working group sessions of the Amsterdam IETF will be multicast out
across the Internet. InterNIC Directory and Database Services is now
recording the audio sessions for later retrieval.

STRUCTURE OF THE ARCHIVE:

InterNIC Directory and Database Services has created the directory
   "/pub/ietf/amsterdam-ietf", subdirectories "mon", "tue", . .. "fri",
for each date, and "plenary", "sdr", etc. directories under each date
for each audio session. Each directory will contain a number of files,
and each file contains about 30 minutes of recorded audio.

   examples:
      /pub/ietf/amsterdam-ietf/mon/uri/audio.2c4176d0.1b2
      /pub/ietf/amsterdam-ietf/tue/tuba/audio.2c42da18.cf

ACCESS VIA ANONYMOUS FTP:

Anonymous FTP to ds.internic.net and change directory to
/pub/ietf/amsterdam-ietf/, then go to the date and session you are
   looking for.

TIME TO LIVE OF THE ARCHIVE

Due to the large amount of storage required, this recorded audio
archive is not permanent. It will be available until approximately
2 weeks after working group meeting minutes or reports are completed.

WHERE TO GET TOOLS

The tool to receive audio is available by anonymous FTP from
   ftp.ee.lbl.gov in the file sun-vat.tar.Z, dec-vat.tar.Z,
   or sgi-vat.tar.Z.

The tool to replay recorded audio sessions is available by
anonymous FTP from sics.se. in the archive/vat_record.tar.Z.

More information about the MBONE, including what hardware and software is
required to receive the multicast, is available by anonymous FTP from
venera.isi.edu in the file mbone/faq.txt.
