PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, U.S.A., 1994 AUG 29 (NB) -- Carnegie Mellon University will develop an electronic archive of the papers of the late Senator J. John Heinz III, with financial aid from the Heinz family and archival software from a university spin-off company, Claritech. The university announced that the Teresa and H. John Heinz III Foundation, the Heinz Company Foundation, and the Howard and Vira I. Heinz endowments have together donated more than $1 million to create the electronic archive, which will contain the papers of the late Pennsylvania senator as digital images. Carnegie Mellon University will provide another $450,000, and Claritech will put in $260,000. ...
