 NATIONAL INFORMATION INFRASTRUCTURE ADVISORY
          COUNCIL MEETING TO BE HELD IN ST. PAUL


The U.S. Advisory Council on the  National Information Infrastructure (NII)
will meet Monday, June 20, 1994, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the
Landmark Center in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota.  The meeting will be
open to the public and there will be an opportunity for the public to ask
questions of the Council during the meeting.


The NII Advisory Council was established in January, 1994 by the U.S.
Department of Commerce at the request of Vice President Gore.  The
Council will facilitate private and public sector input on the development of
the NII to the intergovernmental Information Infrastructure Task Force,
which is chaired by Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown and includes most
Cabinet-level departments and agencies.


Minnesota business leaders Vance Opperman, president of West Publishing in
Eagan, and Stanley Hubbard, president of Hubbard Broadcasting in St. Paul,
are among the thirty-seven members from across the country who were
appointed to the NII Advisory Council by Secretary of Commerce Ron
Brown.


The Landmark Center is located at 75 W. 5th Street in downtown St. Paul.
