Date: Sun, 12 Feb 1995 15:46:14 -0500 (EST) From: David Lytel <dlytel () ostp eop gov> The Office of Science and Technology Policy of the Executive Office of the President has openings for qualified volunteers and unpaid summer interns to help improve the White House Web site. We do not anticipate having any paid positions for the summer. Successful applicants would have a strong Unix background and experience with HTML, but may also be called upon to do general office duties. Those selected as summer interns will be expected to be on site full time either from 17 May to 7 July or from 10 July to 25 August. Applicants for fall or spring semester internships will also be considered at this time. Volunteers are expected to be residents of the Capitol region who can be on site for one full day a week during the summer and at least a half day a week during the school year. All applicants must be 18 years of age and are subject to a security screening process. How to apply: Please send an electronic mail message with the URL of your Web homepage in the subject line to interns () ostp eop gov. The subject line must begin http:// and it must contain nothing else other than the address of your homepage, ie. http://address/of/yourpage.html. It can contain links to websites you have helped to build or maintain, but must at a minimum contain your name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, and age. You should also indicate if you are interested in being an intern (and if so, which session) or a volunteer. No applications will be accepted by mail, fax, or telephone. To be considered at this time your URL must be received by close of business on Friday 24 February. Applications will be considered from all qualified persons without discrimination. Many of last year's entries were truly brilliant and we regret having been able to take only one. Be creative and have fun... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= David Lytel Office of Science and Technology Policy The White House =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
