            6th IEEE Singapore International Conference on Networks=20


                               July, 1 - 4, 1998


                                  Singapore






The National University of Singapore and IEEE Singapore Section are
pleased to announce the 6th IEEE Singapore International Conference On
Networks (SICON'98) in Singapore. The conference will start with two
days of tutorials, and will continue with two days of technical
presentations. As with the previous conferences, SICON'98 will provide
a forum to bring together International and regional researchers, who
are actively involved in research  in computer networks and
communications area.


PAPER SUBMISSIONS


Contributions describing original  unpublished research, surveys and
applications including but not restricted to the following areas are
solicited:

=B7 next generation internet protocols - implementation and migration
  issues
=B7 multimedia networking - systems and protocols
=B7 wireless and mobile networks=20
=B7 satellite networks
=B7 routing, addressing, flow and congestion controls
=B7 resource sharing, quality of service and applications
=B7 network traffic modeling and performance analysis
=B7 network signaling and connection management
=B7 testbeds and measurements=09
=B7 network architecture and protocols
=B7 network security, privacy and firewalls
=B7 active networks
=B7 advances in network management
=B7 intranetworking - web architectures and applications
=B7 internet 2 and other research and educational networks
=B7 advanced network services and applications - campus network
  services, multimedia services, education and training

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS


All submissions should have a cover page containing the title, author
name(s), complete address (telephone, fax, email) for all authors,
indication of the corresponding author, and an abstract (100-150
words), followed by keywords and one or more areas of interest from
the list above.


Authors are requested to submit five copies of manuscript (in English)
of no more than 6,000 words to:

Authors are also encouraged to submit the manuscript electronically in
compressed postscript and be FTPed to ftp.iscs.nus.edu.sg and put
under /pub/tmp/sicon/manuscript. Authors should separately email the
cover page in plain text  to the Technical Program Chair.=20


All manuscripts will be reviewed and authors will be advised as per the
dates given below. Accepted papers must be presented at the conference
with the presenting author registering as a delegate in order for the
papers to be included in the proceedings. Good papers that can not fit
into the main categories will be considered for the poster session, and
abridged version of such papers would be included in the proceedings.


TUTORIAL PROPOSALS


Proposals for tutorial topics including but not restricted to these
areas are solicited: multimedia networking, high speed networks,
mobile/wireless computing, network security and internet.  Each
proposal should be about 1000 words and should include a synopsis,
tutorial outline and brief speaker's biography. Please submit a copy
of your proposal to the Tutorial Chair via email at
cheecl () iscs nus edu sg before 19 December 1997.

Notification of acceptance      15 March 1998
Camera-ready paper due          15 April 1998
Pre-Conference Tutorials        1-2 July 1998

EXHIBITION


The conference provides an opportunity to the participants and vendors to=20
dispaly/demonstrate their network related products.
