Checks. Sometime early next month, the Federal Election Commission is expected to take up a petition to grant matching funds for contributions made via check online. The proposal would add a third way to contribute -- credit and debit cards already are approved for matching funds. "Online checks could be the 'killer app' of this campaign cycle," Campaign Advantage CEO Phil Tajitsu Nash said Thursday. Nash first petitioned the FEC to weigh the proposal in November. FEC Chair Scott Thomas Thursday said the political consultant will likely get what he wants. "I'm always hopeful the commission can interpret the law to take into account modern technologies. I'm assuming the commission will take a fresh look at this and issue a ruling that will allow most of what the requestor has sought," he said................
