Dave, IP readers might want to consider this analysis of an unintended consequence of Star Wars, Rel. 1.0. A bad idea then and a bad idea now. An op/ed in today's Boston Globe Reagan's SDI is at the root of China's alleged theft of nuclear data (By Stephen L. Schwartz) Despite the torrent of coverage concerning China's alleged theft of nuclear weapons design data from Los Alamos National Laboratory, a central question remains: Why would Chinese espionage focus on acquiring the technology to put multiple independently targeted reentry vehicles atop ballistic missiles? The answer, like the contradictory and sometimes hyperbolic allegations, dates back to the 1980s http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/077/oped/Reagan_s_SCI_is_at_the_root_of_China_s_alleged_theft_of_nuclear_data+.shtml Pls use the ENTIRE URL, which has for sure wrapped!
