Hi all,

There's a good synopsis of the European anti-pirating law that has the
effect of making caching illegal at the BBC URL below. It passed its
first reading due to ignorance but both sides are now arguing for
modification to exempt caches.

It has been complicated by the fact that the Euro-commissioner
concerned was forced to resign along with the rest of them for
corruption. There's no news on when (if!) the clause will be struck
out before the bill becomes law later this year.

There's also a 10 minute audio file on the problem from the marketing
VP of Cisco's caching technology partner, Mirror Image Internet.
