As reported(1) by the Norwegian newspaper VG, Norwegian Rail had big problems with their latest, greatest, mosts expensive new trains(2) when the clocks on the onboard computers rolled over to Dec. 31 2000 (yes, NYE, not the new year). The problem? The trains wouldn't move an inch. The solution? Set the onboard clocks back one month. The manufacturer of the trains, ADtranz in Germany(3), say they're not sure exactly what caused the problem, but they're suspecting leap year trouble. I guess no one saw that one coming. ;-) 1) <http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=3095840> 2) <http://www.nsb.no/signatur/index.htm> 3) <http://www.adtranz.de/> Gunnar -- Gunnar Helliesen | Bergen IT Consult AS | Open Source activist Systems Consultant | Bergen, Norway | Jaguar enthusiast gunnar () bitcon no | www.bitcon.no/~gunnar | Märklin collector
