Progressive Casualty Insurance The nation's fourth-largest automobile insurance company has established the Autograph program, which taps into Global Positioning System technology to track drivers' usage and then calculate insurance premiums based on that usage. The Autograph system uses a videotape-size box installed in a vehicle to track data about its speed, mileage, and other usage metrics. Autograph periodically transmits the data to Progressive via cellular frequencies.
