Dave: I found a very interested article on Afghanistan written by Frederick
Engels in 1857. This could help to understand how difficult an invasion
could be. Also explains why the English failed twice to invade them. Also
will support the analysis made to Le Monde by a Russian veteran on
Afghanistan, Evgueni Zelenov: "Afghanistan is not Iraq nor Yugoslavia, It's
not a plain nor a desert, but a group of mountains accesses only by
prohibited, chemical or biological arms".
