Well, it appears that Blockbuster will be just fine for a while, thank
you very much, in Europe.

On trying to access MovieLink from the UK: "Thank you for your interest
in Movielink. We want you to take part in the powerful Internet movie
rental experience that Movielink delivers, but it is presently
unavailable to users outside of the United States.".

One has to wonder whether this is for commercial reasons (ye olde
differential pricing/release schedules) or legal reasons (the friendly
RIAA being higher profile in the US than abroad)...

This is a huge step forward by the film industry.  It's shocking,
really. It indicates that a lot of reality is beginning to settle in out
there about the importance of e-commerce.  Now the only problem
remaining for the film studios to solve is to get this into your TV set
by a low-cost and convenient method that will be embraced by the home
consumer.  This will let the media conglomerates clear out all the
expensive middlemen on the home side.

The 20 min download time is conveniently just the right length of time
to let you pop and butter the popcorn.
