Many thanks to Tim for alerting us to this. But note that the posting  
is accurate but subtle on a key point.  The dishes in question are  
not  "The Dish" -- the big (150 ft) famous stanford icon visible from  
Hwy 280. Rather, they are several smaller ("only" 60 feet dia.)  
dishes located west ot Hwy 280.  Still very important and worth  
saving as a resource of course. More info including pictures is at  
www.bambi.net/stanford_dishes/rescue.html   It would be a damn shame  
if they aren't saved.
