Eric, I can't speak to the fallacies of the DoD but I can talk about media organizations with some expertise. I don't know how you tried to contact CNN but trying to contact anorganization like that is akin to trying to wash a Mack truck by spitting on
it. At the very least you would need to find a living, breathing (notice I didn't say intelligent) human being who works directly for the Lou Dobbsshow. You then email or better yet, CALL that person and make your request.
Outside of that, you're chances of having your request filled by a CNN employee are slim. Another avenue you might consider, if it's really important to you, is buying a copy of the program. You can use this link: http://orders.voxant.com/store/cart.php?m=product_list&c=3I've never used this service nor do I have any association of any kind with them, that said, it looks like a pretty straightforward approach to getting
what you want. --Brock On 1/8/07 5:42 PM, "David Farber" <dave () farber net> wrote:

I tried to get a copy from CNN, to no avail. Indeed, I got no response! On October 18, 2006, I filed two FOIA requests with the Dept. of Defense-- one for the transcript and a second for "...all documents applying or relating to Lou Dobbs' interview of Peter Pace, Chairman of the JCS, ...including its publication or the terms and conditions of such interview." I finally got a reply on January 8, 2007, that "no records responsive to either request were found." Sure. Now, I know that I can't trust the results of any FOIA request. These people are above the law! They are in the "reality making" business, rather than "defense" or 'governance." BTW, Pace adamantly insisted that we must get out of Iraq, immediately, or our military and economy will collapse. He said that we do not have the money, equipment, nor manpower to stay much longer without very dire consequences on all fronts. Dobbs showed him a page from some military manual discussing the French experience getting bogged down in Spain and exhausting its military, emptying its treasury, and losing its empire. Pace said there were differences with our situation, but that we were in danger of the same result. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -You are subscribed as bmeeks () cox net To manage your subscription, go to http://v2.listbox.com/member/?listname=ip Archives at: Archives: http://archives.listbox.com/247/ Modify Your Subscription: http://v2.listbox.com/member/?&Unsubscribe: http://v2.listbox.com/unsubscribe/?id=3261743-c3a4851f- x8n9yv0fPowered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
