Subject: Wash State wants to tax "custom software"! <sigh>

What bright light dreamed up THIS idiocy?!

From Washington examiner.com Seattle - http://bit.ly/d2AgC4

The intended legislation to tax custom software is a brilliant solution to Seattle's horrible traffic problems. [House Bill 3191, Part 15, proposes to apply sales tax to "custom software" and "customization of prewritten software".]

...<snip>...

[Washington State has one of the most regressive tax structures in the nation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_state "... The state of Washington has the least progressive tax structure in the U.S.[clarification needed] It is one of only seven states that does not levy a personal income tax. The state also does not collect a corporate income tax or franchise tax. ..." But it imposed a plethora of high taxes on products and services - hitting those who can least afford it, while protecting those individuals and corporations with the greatest ability to pay. --jim]
