The server is running in VMWare 4.5 on a WinXP Host system. The host is a 3.2 Ghz w 2G RAM. The Win2K server is configured with 512 RAM. The Metasploit command shell is also sluggish with the VNC. eip ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carric Dooley" <carric at com2usa.com> To: "Israel Torres" <itorres at litronic.com> Cc: "'eip'" <eip at tampabay.rr.com>; <framework at metasploit.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 28, 2004 7:14 PM Subject: RE: [framework] VNC Payload
I had just assumed the latency was an issue due to the "cut down" version packaged with MS. I have run this against a few machines of varying types, both servers and workstations, and it seems fairly consistent. I figured it's not fast, but it sure is nice to have a desktop!!. I am surprised to hear that anyone is having a different experience. On Tue, 28 Sep 2004, Israel Torres wrote:Hi, Do you have specs of the machine? I've run it in a vmware session on a

2.8/256MB and it runs nicely (read: not sluggish)... how is your cmd
session
in comparison? Perhaps you need to beef up your hardware memory? Just a thought. Israel -----Original Message----- From: eip [mailto:eip at tampabay.rr.com] Sent: Tuesday, September 28, 2004 3:49 PM To: framework at metasploit.com Subject: [framework] VNC Payload I have been using the VNC payload against a Win2K server (no patches) in VMWare. The VNC session is very sluggish. I checked the CPU and it is
almost
idle. Is anyone else having this problem? eip-- Carric Dooley COM2:Interactive Media http://www.com2usa.com
