Wouldn't a signed GPG signature or OpenID be more effective if you
insisted on having a prerequisite for subscribing and/or posting?

I do like the idea of having to mimic an exploitation, but I also
believe it would consequently reduce the list's audience. I am sure
there are less educated people on this list who subscribe to learn; and
to deny them that privilege would go against the very fiber of hacker
etiquette and the freedom of information exchange. It's not like this is
some underground 0day list full of criminal activity.

Long live Metasploit :)

Humbly,
JW

Perhaps the mailing list needs some filter to get on it, say only
approve subscriptions that pass a trivial SQL or Shell escape attack
test on the subscribe page.

Clearly, these guys are lower than script kiddies.

Do we really need to be teaching mailing list etiquette on a
list about an exploitation framework? Perhaps the mailing
list software needs an option to detect "unsubscribe"
messages sent to the list and respond by subscribing the user
to a bunch of penis enlargement/stock spam/viagra mailing
lists instead.
