Actually, HD's father was killed by the righteous hack of a man with a
scar on his face.  As HD stood sobbing over his murdered father, he
stared up with hatred at the man with the scar, awaiting the final
blow.  Rather than kill him however, he put his intel manuals in HD's
shaking blood stained hands saying, "When you're ready, come find me."

Still he searches.
